Life is only what it seems
It comes and goes just like a dream
It shows you things you can’t foresee
It’s shown me new sides of me
It teaches us give and take
We learn to stand when we break
We breathe and see and grow and learn
Our life is something that we make
Or is it, really? What is this life?
Your simple breaths take you to flight
What force is it that holds you upright?
What do you know of this life?
Have you knowledge that you live?
Is what you take what you give?
Without a mark you keep on breathing
Is that to live, or just to exist?
How do you live the life you have?
Do we live at all, is all I ask.
What powers have you that keep you alive?
This life continues as the days pass
With the setting sun and rising moon,
and trying to grow up too fast too soon
What is this life? What do you know?
What song does your own life tune?
Or do you have no sound at all?
Speak to talk, stand to not fall…
It’s just existing.
It’s not life at all.
Speak to be heard, not just to talk.
Stand up for something, or why stand at all?
Let not yourself die without leaving behind
Your mark on this earth as your dying call.
You do that. Be inspiring. Get out there and live.
But this life to me is nothing but a test I must give.
To live is to love life and enjoy every breath.
To exist is to breathe in and out like it’s not worth the mess.
I don’t need to love life, or live hard. But persist
in pleasing the One for whom I exist.
That is all my purpose and all my need.
It might not be what you believe.
Nothing else matters, and if this is just to exist…
Then exist I shall… He’s all that matters to me.
